Marcus Aurelius Probus was Roman emperor between A.D. 276 and late A.D. 282, when he was killed in a mutiny. He served with distinction in the army and his entire reign was spent in warfare, which is often reflected in his coinage. For the moment, I will just be exploring my collection of his coinage minted in Lugdunum, modern-day Lyons in France. The structure of the Lugdunum coinage is based upon the Emission structure given in Bastien.
